About this experiment
Release FarncombeVa Va Voom is a small experiment, started in Godalming in October 2026. Here's why we're doing it, what it is, and how it's made, mostly in the words we've said to each other along the way.
Why

Kev
Local solutions that activate local citizens. Make better living fun, enlivening and relevant.

Tim
Climate change: I don't want to hear those words.
We'd all sat in rooms full of feeling about where the world is heading. Then only a handful came to what came next. Worry doesn't get people off the sofa. Something fun, close to home, with people you like, just might.

Tim
Making this area awesome is definitely something.
What

Kev
This is about everyday folk from around here giving stuff a go. It's not about doing it perfectly. It's not about getting it right. It's about trying something out, learning something in the process.

Reiks
It feels like I'm not cool, but this feels like something cool I could be part of.

Carl
Is it too playful to be claiming it can make a change?
Honest answer: we don't know yet. That's the experiment. Walks, a pint, a sauna, learning from a neighbour. Small things, near home, and you can join in any way you like, including just showing up.
How it's made
- By a few local people and an AI. Kev, Tim and Carl, with Claude doing much of the building, in spare evenings and early mornings. A test of what neighbours can make for themselves with today's tools.
- Simple on purpose. One web page, a private Google Sheet for anything you send, and visit counting only if you say yes. Our data promise.
- Tested as we go. On real phones, with real people, and with pretend "persona" panels (a guide, not evidence).
- Named releases. Each version is named after a local place, A to Z. Anything you send us is tagged with the release you saw, so your feedback lands on the right version.
What we're watching
- Do people turn up?
- Do people raise a hand to run something or help out?
- Do they come back?
- What do you wish it did? Tell us, or vote on what we build next.
Things will change as we learn. That's the point.
The nerdy detail: how we built this and the full change history. If a change there says "Unverified", that only means it wasn't digitally signed. It's still ours.
